The contest began with a phone call from Jimmy. He told me that he was
going to two church breakfasts on Saturday and Sunday where he’d be
eating pancakes and eggs and juice. I remembered that I can’t remember the last time I ate a hot breakfast. In fact, the best meal I’d had in
the last two weeks was a store bought rotisserie chicken and reheated
soy beans and a tomato, that I ate with my dad. Jimmy was going to these church breakfasts because he is a photographer for a newspaper in Queens and he was
going on assignment. The whole church breakfast idea reminded me I have not been taking care of myself at all,
keeping a steady diet of cereal, pretzels, and beer. I also drink a lot of water
and the fruit and vegetables on the street in Chinatown keep me
going
but I’ve got to eat better.
I challenged Jimmy, let’s see who eats better this week. My advantage
started early, I was heading to my parent’s place in New Jersey for my dad’s birthday.

in Ireland we went to some terrible disco at 3 a.m. and he bought us pints of Budweiser and shots of After Shock. Sippin’ on Sizizurrrup.
Jimmy and Dave are playing records at Sin Sin every other Sunday. This will
