There are some great people in this video. I don’t know the guys flying the kite and I got no love for the dude who jump kicked me at the end although I did deserve the jump kick.
The P.J. Harvey show (she’s the one singing) was so beautiful. I was talking to my friend Kate the day before the show and I told her that I’ve only been jealous once in my life. And, to this day, I’ve only been jealous once.
I was working as a busboy, filling up water glasses, taking in the scenery and I saw a guy interviewing P.J. Harvey. Even though there were more glasses to be filled I couldn’t stop trying to listen to the questions he was asking her and kept thinking, “No, why would you ask her that? Or, I would be asking her…” I got frustrated wondering how I’d get to do these interviews.
So, I told this story and she told me she had an extra ticket to see P.J. Harvey the next day. I didn’t know she was playing and even if I did I wouldn’t have bought a ticket because I was going through a phase where I could only listen to John Denver and Cat Power.
